From the Principal

Hello to all our parents, carers and friends

I hope you enjoyed the Christmas break catching up with family and friends. We are so glad to have the students back at school and everyone has had a great start settling into their new classes.

We have packed a lot into the first few weeks, starting with the staff getting together for 2 training days focussed on setting high expectations and discussing our purpose and directions for the year. The students returned with smiles on their faces and it was wonderful seeing friendships renewed after the holiday break.

We have many new faces around the school, both staff and students. Read more about our new staff in Spotlight On. Congratulations to our Student Leadership team who were inducted on Tuesday. I look forward to listening to the ideas that come out of the Student Representative group meetings which will be held every fortnight led by Liam Low our Engagement Officer.

Our General Assistant team worked tirelessly over the holidays to ensure that the school was ready for the staff and students. The vineyard is the best it has looked in years with the grapes coming along beautifully ready for harvest later in the term.  The Cooler Classrooms project (new air-conditioning units throughout the school) has been completed and solar panels were installed over the holidays. Thank you to Anthony, Megan, Bill, Ian, Lachie and Maurice for their hard work.

I invite all of our families to join us at the Welcome BBQ on the back oval next Wednesday 15th February. We will have a variety of activities, face-painting, tours of all our spaces around the school and a BBQ. Come along with your family and meet the staff and look around the school.

Please ensure your child is wearing their hat and sunblock is applied at the start of the day. We will reapply before breaks. The weather has been very warm so we are ensuring that students are hydrated and sun safe throughout the day.

Hoping to see you next Wednesday.
