Key Dates for Reporting Student Progress in Term 4

A Compass notification was sent to parents and carers yesterday informing everyone that bookings for parent teacher interviews are now open. These bookings will close on Friday, December 9th at 12 noon. For any bookings after this, please contact your child’s classroom teacher directly via phone, email or in person. Student reports will be available via Compass this Friday, December 9th from 5 pm. Please see a summary of all the key dates below for reports, bookings and parent teacher interviews.

Bookings open for end of year Parent - Teacher Interviews: Monday December 5th
Reports available on Compass: Friday December 9th
Bookings close for end of year Parent - Teacher Interviews: Friday December 9th
Parent Teacher Interviews Day 1: Monday December 12th (4pm- 6pm)
Parent Teacher Interviews Day 2: Thursday December 15th (1.30 pm - 5pm *School finishes at the earlier time of 1pm)

Preparing for the Parent-Teacher Interviews

Interviews will be allocated 15 min each. It is important that we aim to stick to these time limits so we are fair to all and avoid lengthy waiting times. Should you get to the end of the interview and require more time, please see if it is possible to organise another opportunity with your child’s teacher on a different day.

This interview will:

● Provide further explanation about reports

● Elaborate on level of growth and achievement

● Elaborate on effort/work habits

● Elaborate on social/emotional aspects

● Provide an opportunity for parents to ask questions.

We encourage the students to be part of the interview process as they are central to most discussions. Having your child at the interview will allow for their voice to be heard and also for both teacher and parents to support the feedback process.

Reading the report prior to the interview is always an important preparation step. Jotting down some questions you or your child has, will help on the night.

2023 PARENT CONTRIBUTIONS

Last Friday, every family should have received a paper copy of the information for Parent Contributions for 2023 (sent home with students). This information outlines the details of the costs of supplies and resources that children will have access to in the classroom throughout the year.

We have had wonderful support from our parent community in the past for provision of the ongoing costs of providing curriculum resources for all students across the school and appreciate your support into the future.
