We wish to welcome both our returning senior students and those new to our College to the 2023 academic school year. Staff and students alike are enthusiastically looking forward to a productive year enriched with rewarding experiences and students reaching their goals. St John’s Regional College looks forward to working in partnership with families to assist students to make this year as successful as possible.
As the school year begins our Senior students have returned to school to consolidate on the great head start they made during our Step-Up Program at the end of 2022. The Year 12 students have all been able to meet as a cohort to establish protocols, expectations and to discuss strategies to promote success in their final year of schooling. The importance of personal organisation, consistent effort and actively applying themselves to every class has also been a focus in our first week back this term. Our Year 11 students are settling in to their senior studies, learning new routines and establishing great habits. They are all to be congratulated on their strong start to the year.
Our VCE Vocational Major students have also been able to consolidate on their learning that began last year. Our Lantern Café Program has resumed, and students are busy learning new skills and preparing the café for customers. We are hopeful that it will be open to customers sometime in March. This program is being utilized to compliment the learning occurring in their applied studies by relating them to a real world experience. We look forward to supporting them as a community once the café opens.
