Around the School

Around The School - Mr Flynn, Assistant Principal

Over the course of this week we will be welcoming back students one day a week as  part of our managed return to school in term 2. It was wonderful today to have all the smiling faces of our Kindergarten students back and enjoying their brand new learning spaces.

As the students return this week they will notice that Stage 2 of our building project has been completed. This means that Kindergarten and Year 1 and 2 have moved into their new learning spaces and the staff have moved into our refurbished staff room and office spaces.

New Procedures for Morning and Afternoon

  • Students can be picked up and dropped off as normal from the gate between the presbytery and the Church. (We will be staggering the release of students through the gate so please remember to adhere to social distancing guidelines while waiting for and picking up students.)
  • If students are entering the school via Denison Street at the front of the school (either by bus or drop off), they now need to come in through the gate next to the office (between the office and the hall). The gate next to the play equipment will be locked.

Hygiene Guidelines and Procedures at School

At school we have introduced the following procedures to promote good hygiene:

  • Increased cleaning of classrooms.
  • Hand washing with soap or hand sanitiser before and after meals and play.
  • Social distancing in the classroom where possible.
  • Communal water blubbers have been turned off. (Students must have their own drink bottle - drink bottles can be refilled at the chilled water tap.)
  • Play equipment is out of bounds.

Have a wonderful week everyone,

Pete Flynn
