Hello and greetings from Mentone Girls’ Secondary College

We are thinking of our primary school communities – teachers, support staff, students and families – during remote learning. Assisting Year 6 students and families through the transition progress will be challenging this year.  

MGSC is sending through this package of information in lieu of our cancelled Open Night (planned for 28 April) and College Tours. These events are our main forum to showcase the school and students, give presentations, answer questions and distribute materials. Our students are our best ambassadors and we are missing the opportunity to show-off our school.

Applying for MGSC

As a government secondary schools applicants must complete the Department of Education and Training Application for Year 7 Placement 2021. Links to the Year 6 to Year 7 transition information pack are on our website. https://mgsc.vic.edu.au/enrolment/year-7-enrolment/

An out-of-zone application form is not required. In past years there has been a purple form that was distributed at the Open Night. There is no separate form to return making it easier for the schools and families.  Families do need to put MGSC as their first preference in section 4B.

A reminder to non-government primary schools, families have the option to return the DET application form directly to MGSC by Friday 28 May. Use email  mentone.girls.sc@education.vic.gov.au
