Celebrating all things great at the Grove.
It's starting to feel like that busy time of the year! We have only 5 and a bit weeks left of the school year and each week seems to offer more and more to fit in. I hope you are keeping track of it all! I have sent home calendars & created events on FaceBook to help you remember it all. Make sure you are checking this. You will also find upcoming events in the dates to remember section of the newsletter.
Prep Orientation is coming up in a couple of weeks. Step up to prep continues this week before Orientation next week.
Prep enrolment interviews will occur in week 7 & 8. Pre-prep parents will book these interview times at Prep Orientation Day on November 10th at 9am.
Prep to Yr 2 swimming finishes up this week. We have managed to catch up the prep missed lessons over the last 2 weeks
Yrs 3-6 begin their swimming program next week. As school finishes on a Wednesday this year, they will have their final lesson on the last day of term. If you have yet to return forms & payment, please do so ASAP.
The ‘Learn to Swim’ program provides children with the opportunity to develop water safety and confidence, breathing and stroking. All students will be involved in swimming lessons which will be run at UQ Gatton Campus.
Students will have longer lessons than in previous years, giving them more time in the pool. As swimming is a part of the compulsory school P.E. program, all children are expected to attend each session whether swimming or not (for supervisory purposes). Should you require further information or have a concern, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
The P&C have made the decision to go ahead with Carols in the Grove at the end of the year. We recognise that we haven't been able to get together as a school community much this year and if we follow safety procedures we think this outdoor event will be ok. Families will need to register at the gate & social distance appropriately during the event. We will hold a BBQ dinner before the concert. Keep an eye on our FaceBook or Dojo for further details.
This fundraiser for student council this term is a colour fun run. Students took home fundraising forms earlier in the term. On Wednesday afternoon all students participating need to bring a white t-shirt to change into before the event. All funds raised to be returned by 11th November.
Our next newsletter will be sent out in Week 9! Have a fabulous November!
