Back to the Theatre

Last Thursday night SPC Theatre Club went back to the theatre! It feels somewhat serendipitous that the last play we saw before the ghost lights went on was at the Griffin and it was our first theatre back, with new Australian play Superheros. The Griffin Theatre Company worked tirelessly to get us back through the doors. Their effort was greatly appreciated by the boys, their families, and our accompanying staff. Superheros was a dynamic, engaging and highly poignant production. There were multiple access points and narratives for our students to grab onto and engage with. The layers of meaning and subtle hints to human experience will sit with our students for a while to come. This is the beauty of theatre and it is made more special by the fact that we experience it as a community.

Theatre Club is open to all members of the school community, not only Drama students, if you love theatre, or even if you are a little curious, we would love to have you join us. Later this year we will be announcing our plays for 2021 and calling for interest. If you have any questions about joining us, please email me.
