This Term students in Year 2 have been investigating the changes that occur in the sky (including night and day) and why these changes occur.
Students have also explored seasonal changes to the landscape, researched the different clouds that we see in the sky, investigated the water cycle, where our water comes from, why our body needs water to survive and also predicted what Earth would look like if all the water was to disappear.
Students have enjoyed completing a range of different activities this Term to accompany Inquiry lessons. The students enjoyed completing activities including a difference between night and day picture, making an informative poster about the different types of clouds, discussing the water cycle and all the different ways it is used at home and at school.
A big highlight for the year 2’s was going on a water walk around the school to see all the different ways water is used and stored at school.
This week students are discussing and completing activities about the different ways we can use water responsibly at home and at school.

Take home readers have begun. Please note that in order to do this in a Covid-safe way the structure of take home readers has changed. Students will be given readers to take home on Monday. They will then be expected to bring those readers back each Friday. Returning the readers on a Friday will give the school’s contract cleaners an opportunity to sanitise the books, ready for safe distribution on the following Monday. Students will not have the readers over the weekend.
Please read with your child nightly, making a note in their student diary.
