Scientists dissect and discover, explode and explore, investigate and invent – and their work can genuinely change the world. If you can't make it to the Monash Change of Preference Expo being held on the 30th & 31st December, or would like to have a conversation - They are holding a Zoom drop in session with Monash staff and current students. Join us for a chat about pathways or for some Science course advice on Thursday 31 December 4:00pm-6:00pm.

NEW SCHOOL LEAVERS INFORMATION KIT

All students in Year 12 should have received an email with information and links about this new initiative. This kit has been developed to help students understand the education, training, career opportunities and pathways available to them in 2021.

 

Transitioning from school can sometimes be challenging and COVID-19 has presented some additional challenges. The aim of this kit is to help support you in making decisions about your next steps after leaving school and to equip you with resources to be better informed about your education, training and work options. The National Career Institute’s (NCI) School Leavers Information Kithas been specially developed to help you at this time and includes:

  • Resources to support you to make decisions about the right career and pathway for you to get there post-school;
     
  • Information on work and education options such as university, vocational education and training (VET), apprenticeships, volunteering and community service;
     
  • Tips and resources to help you update your resume and apply for jobs;
     
  • Resources outlining government funding support and subsidies available to you.

The NCI has also set up the 

School Leavers Information Service. This is a free support to help navigate the School Leavers Information Kit and the NCI’s

'YourCareer' website and where necessary, will refer callers to relevant government programs, support services, and/or career guidance. Through this service young people also have the option to:

The website provides a host of other information for all ages including links to support services that are available  to help find employment, manage your own wellbeing and look after your rights. Find out if you are eligible for any of the programs and payments available for people seeking to study or work.

RMIT Pathways Guaranteed

Pathways Guaranteed gives you the option to preference pathway packages in VTAC. This means you will be able to secure your place in your dream course by completing your vocational studies (otherwise known as TAFE) first and graduate with two internationally-recognised RMIT qualifications.
