House Person of the Year 2020

This year the Student Leadership team, led by the House captains for 2020, began a rejuvenation of the Koonung House system. This led to the creation of House Person of Month awards handed out by the House captains, and the inaugural House Person of the Year award.

This award recognises a student in the school who exemplifies the House program – engaged, community driven and brave. Nominees where called for and then a panel met to detemine the  winner. 

This year the House captains, Mrs Lee and I are proud to announce the House Person of the Year is Katinka Schmid. 

Katinka not only involved herself in house events like the swimming sports and Enviro club, but has raised money for charities, began a volunteer community garden group and encouraged other Koonung students to step up and be involved in their school and general community.
