The Brolga Room

Years 2/3/4

This week in the Brolga room students have been continuing with their ‘Think It, Make It’ inquiry task. We have come up with some great innovations!

In Literacy we have been continuing with our poetry unit and have been recording ourselves reciting poetry. Numeracy has seen us start our 2D shapes unit.

Years 3/4

We have been discovering lots about symmetry and have been creating pictures with at least one line of symmetry.  We have been discussing 2 dimensional shapes and using language like sides, right angles and vertices.  Also the different types of lines, like horizontal, vertical, parallel.

In literacy, we have been doing poetic devices and practicing our poetry delivery to engage the audience. 

Tennis Clinic

This week 2/3/4 did a tennis clinic. There were lots of  fun activities.   We learnt two ways to hit a tennis ball. The first one was a forehand the other one was backhand.  The teachers were from Poowong Tennis Team.  They were really kind and positive. We all had a great time and learnt something new.
