Principal's Chat

All students and staff came back happy and relaxed after the holiday break and have quickly settled back into the school routine.

Staff News:

We welcome back Hayley after her long service leave and officially welcome Scott to LC4.

On Monday we sadly farewell one of our staff members.  Augustino  has made the difficult decision to leave OLSC due to family and study commitments. I'd like to thank Augustino for all he has contributed to OLSC & for helping build community in our school.  We wish you well Augustino in your future endeavours.

Planning for 2020

Planning for 2020 has begun in earnest. OLSC is a growing community and enrolment numbers play a huge part in our future planning. Any families who are leaving OLSC are asked to contact me via email ASAP so we can get an accurate picture of our community for 2020.  We have many families on a waiting list and need to contact them in the near future.

In the next few weeks staff will start to look at placing students into Learning Groups for 2020.  Parents who have any concerns or information that they feel will impact their child are asked to notify me by email. The more information we have the better informed we are to make decisions that benefit the students.

Parish Fair: We are in desperate need of your help!!

This year the Parish fair is on Saturday, November 16 in the grounds of St Andrews School.

Once again Our Lady of the Southern Cross has responsibility for the Spinning Wheel. We are calling on each family to help build  our stock of prizes by donating new items such as toys, games, homewares, gifts,  tools &  Gift vouchers.  Donations can be left at the school office.

As an incentive the Learning Group that collects the most donations will be shouted to a hot chip lunch as a reward.

Car Raffle Tickets were sent home in last week of Term 3. Please endeavour to sell your book - perhaps family and friends would like the chance to win a car for just $2.00.  You have to be in it to win it! We would appreciate the return of raffle tickets as soon as they are sold.

All tickets, even unsold books or tickets need to be returned. If books are lost or misplaced a Statutory Declaration needs to be signed & returned in place of the book.

This is our opportunity to work together as a community to support our church and our parish.

Sunsmart

A reminder that in Term 4 all students are required to wear their school hat outside during recess, lunch and Physical Education lessons.  The students have had a couple of weeks grace, with gentle reminders but as of Monday we will be enforcing 'No Hat, No Play'. Parents are also asked to check all hats are labelled with their child's name please.  Hats are available to purchase from the Uniform shop.  Students are also able to wear their summer uniform, we ask that by the end of October all students are in summer uniform.

Cheers

Sandy
