Sports update

All Junior and Senior School Term 2 Sport Registrations are now open.

Please note even though all Term 1 sports have been suspended, the College will still go ahead with Term 2 registrations at this stage. A decision on the rosters and other major events and carnivals will be made closer to the start of the term. 

Junior School

The JSSATIS sport offered this term in the Junior School is netball. Netball is offered to Years 3 – 6 and played on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. All JSSATIS sports are offered at no cost to families.

As well as netball we also offer non-JSSATIS sports. This term, Water Polo (Year 5-6) and Hockey (Prep-Year 6) are offered. Water Polo is played on a Friday evening and Hockey is played on a Saturday morning. Please note, the College does not cover team entry fees for non-JSSATIS sports. Families will be required to pay a registration fee when signing up to play. Further information will be sent home to families shortly.

Term 2 Sport Registrations - JUNIOR SCHOOL

Senior School

The College offers a variety of sports for Year 7-12 students including Southern SATIS netball, 1st Grade AFL and 1st Grade hockey. This year St Mary’s College will also enter a Year 9-10 team in the Netball Tasmania High School Championships, which will be held in Term 3. To be eligible for selection, students will need to play in a SSATIS netball roster in Term 2.

School netball is a great way to try a new sport or just have some fun with your friends if you already play club netball. With 2 Divisions available, new players are always welcome to sign up and give it a go! It’s all about participation and being active.

The school will also offer non-SATIS sports including Water Polo and Badminton, which are both played on a Friday. Please note, the College does not cover team entry fees for non-SATIS sports.  Students will be required to pay a registration fee when signing up to play.
