A Word from Tanya

Dear Families,

We are near the end of a wonderful year and still so many exciting events are on the calendar!

Junior Camping Program

Thank you to the Junior staff for their amazing organization, sheer hard work and support encouraging and caring for all children as they embarked on these activities.

The final camping experience for Year 1/2 at Funfields was ‘ the best day ever’ I have been told many, many times. The dinner, sleepover and breakfast to follow was just sensational. Families be so proud of your children they were amazing! Staff at Funfields raved about them to our teachers!!!!

Student Action - Well Done!

This week we have had two events:

  1. Year 6 sold icy poles on Monday ( great day for it) to be proactive to raise funds to support the production of their Yearbook. Well done and thank you!
  2. Isabella.M, Angus.D and Portia baked and baked and baked for their stall that they planned along with Sue, Ange, Mel and Kiara. This was to support the Royal Children’s Hospital as Isabella has recently been a patient there. What a mighty effort- they raised $497.45 ( $342.25 Cake Stall and $155.20 Free Dress)

Reports

Next Monday December 16th all of your child’s continuous assessments will be completed and up online for you to view on Compass. These will show your child’s latest growth in various curriculum areas.

An envelope will come home and inside will be:

  • Self Assessment from your child about their learning
  • Personal comment from class teacher
  • Report showing progression points of growth over the last 12 months in all curriculum areas
  • Class List and Teacher for 2020
  • School Structure letter

Included in this envelope as well will be a Family Payment letter for school payments for 2020. There will be no change of fee structure for the school in 2020.

In the busy times ( and we all are) don’t forget to stop and take time to reflect and feel so proud of your child’s growth, not just in academic areas but as a person. They are magic!

Transition Session

Over the last few weeks we have been holding various transition sessions for the children to experience new levels and groupings. We have been watching these carefully, providing feedback and making adjustments to the mix as necessary.

Next Tuesday morning at 9.00 am all students will be spending time in their new class with their new teacher.

If you have any anxieties around this please be sure not to pass these onto your children as often the picture you see is not the one your child or we see!
