Abby Christiaans ’17 supports Year 12 students with their Visual Communications folios

I have lost count of how many times Abby Christiaans (class of 2017) has returned to MFG since graduating. All I know is that when I have emailed or called her, inviting her to return to speak with current students, her standard response is, “Just let me know when and what to bring and I will be there!”During my absence last term, Abby returned to work with the Year 12 Visual Communications class. She was invited back to MFG to talk all things folio and hopefully alleviate some of the stress the Year 12s were feeling with their own folio deadline looming. When I returned from leave last week, I asked Year 12 Visual Communications teacher, Allesha Fecondo how the session with Abby went. Admittedly, I was not surprised when Alesha responded by telling me how amazing Abby was when sharing her own Year 12 folio and talking the students through a project she had recently completed as a Communications Coordinator at Morris Finance. Alesha then went on to say how Abbie’s visit was a ‘turning point’ for her Year 12s. Abbie had provided them with real life examples of the design process and had motivated them and given them practical tips to assist them with their own folios. On behalf of the Year 12 students, I would like to thank you, Abby, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to return to MFG (again) to share your design knowledge and passion. If you are a past student of MFG and have not yet reached out, please email alumni@mfgsc.vic.edu.au
