Early Years News

Jasmin Reynolds

As we approach school holidays and begin to think about Term 4, it has encouraged me to think about how quickly time can go by. Welcoming my own baby boy into the world has taught me to slow down and enjoy the smaller things in life. While I enjoy looking forward to things that are coming in the near future, my beautiful boy Noah has been a reason for me to slow down and enjoy every single moment I can. This incredible experience has made me realise how time does fly by so quickly and yet if we just take a breath and slow ourselves down, we can fill up that time with special memories that will last forever.

That being said, I am looking forward to returning to school to see all the beautiful faces of students, families and staff. Term 4 brings a lot of joy to everyone for many reasons; children begin to look forward to their step-up days where they experience 2023 changes of year levels, teachers, friends and they start to look forward to a break in the summer holidays. There is a buzz in the air around school and I am excited to be part of that as I return.

In the Early Years, Term 3 has been very busy and Term 4 will bring on a new light with new experiences and special memories. Students start to grow and their development begins to show more holistically after spending three terms at school. At Mount Carmel, we will be looking forward to allocating students their classes for 2023, supporting them during their Step-Up Day and revising taught content as we move forward and enter the season of Advent. To help prepare your child for the excitement, hard work and other activities in Term 4, I encourage you to read with your child every day whilst providing them with time to relax, have fun and rest. If you are looking for something fun to do with your family over the holidays I have listed a few school holiday activities below:

Set Up for Success : Learning for Life

A reminder that our Birth to 5 Year program, Set Up For Success: Learning for Life will be back again for a fun filled term. I will be taking these sessions on a Wednesday and I look forward to seeing our regular families as well as meeting new families who attend. It is a great opportunity for young children to socialise and engage in planned educational experiences.
