Class Highlight: KR

Miss Winders

This term, students had the pleasure of working with Miss Estelle Winders. Miss Winders enjoyed 5 weeks with the class. While she was here, students engaged in frisbee games for sport, poetry slam writing and enjoyed her violin playing as a stimulus for creative arts.

Canberra

Half of the students in KR enjoyed the school excursion to Canberra. Many embraced the chance to interact with the variety of opportunities including dressing up in period costumes, investigating the scientific elements and participating in the role plays for government. Epic snow fights were on the agenda at the snow, with students combining in their efforts to attack during the battle.

HP LEGO Master Build

Students have been learning about time in class, both 24 hour times and time conversions. As a part of their activities, students were timed in their attempts to build one of the plethora of Harry Potter sets Miss Rawlins owned. Once completed, students converted their time into minutes and seconds before calculating the seconds per piece for the build. The results were then studied and students needed to provide reasoning for student results including identifying the factors that may have effected the build e.g building experience, size of set, interruptions to class.
