Our Values

We consistently teach and talk about our school values in everything that we do. At this time of year it can be especially important to stay on track when we are getting a little weary.

RESPECT

Respect is the glue that holds your relationships together. Learn ways to be respectful and know what to do when somebody isn’t respectful toward you. We have been talking a lot about Respect lately. It is one of our most important school values and applies to everyone in our school community.

As we get closer to the end of the year students can be excited about moving up and they can also get tired as weather changes and because there is so much going on. It is especially important that we continue to treat everyone around us with Respect even if we are a little bit frayed around the edges.

RESILIENCE

Students can find the transition to other classes difficult even in a small school. You can support your child to be resilient by discussing the changes that happen in a positive way. Sometimes they may be nervous about having a new teacher or being with different people. If we talk to kids about this as an opportunity to meet new people and learn new things then we can help them to bounce back.

INTEGRITY

We continue to encourage students to demonstrate integrity all the time in their lives. From taking responsibility when they have done something wrong, or made a mistake, to picking up after themselves and others. We constantly encourage them to make the right choices even if no one is around.

TEAMWORK

This underpins everything we do in a school. We have to learn how to work as a team to learn, have fun and be safe. Sometimes working in a team means that we are staying on task and doing what we are supposed to do so that others can get on with their tasks. It can also mean working with and supporting others.

SUNSMART

Please encourage your children to wear sunscreen and a hat. We have a no hat no play policy. This means that students will need to be in shaded cover only if they do not wear a hat. It is also important that students have water bottles in class as they can get very thirsty and it can be disruptive to their learning to have to leave class to get a drink.

THANK YOU

Thank you to everyone for being such a supportive community and for the generosity and kindness that you have shown to each other. I am very proud to be Principal in such a thoughtful and caring community.

Have a great week everyone.
