Chaplain's Corner

Seeing the joyful faces on the THANK YOU video which a number of students made for their INSPIRATIONAL teachers this week was very heart-warming!  I know the teachers’ hearts ‘skipped a beat’!

From what I have been hearing all of you have given remote learning a REAL GO – some finding it challenging while others thrived on it. The main thing is you have shown COURAGE TO TRY NEW THINGS and, to varying degrees, you have grown in PERSEVERENCE, in FACING CHALLENGES, and SELF-MOTIVATION!   CONGRATULATIONS!!

ALL STAFF ARE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL NEXT WEEK, INCLUDING ME!

Expect mixed feelings:  excitement, nervousness, joy, tiredness, anxiety, anticipation, unsure, etc….. You may experience one or more of these.

HOW CAN WE MAKE OUR RETURN TO SCHOOL THE BEST EXPERIENCE WE CAN HAVE?

SLEEP – make sure that you get plenty of sleep so that the GRUMPS DON’T CATCH UP WITH YOU!  Being well rested will also help you to listen and learn.

Limit time on gaming and phones – keep these out of your bedroom.  Stop gaming at least 90 minutes before bed so your brain can ‘calm down’.

Eat healthily – what we put in our bodies has an effect on our mood and concentration, and physical health.  Have breakfast!

SMILE! Arrive at school with a positive attitude and with positive body language. Smiles are contagious – pass them on!   Walk tall and look people in the eye – this shows confidence and tells people that you are interested in being friends.   Show that you are interested in others – ask how they are; what they like about being back; what did they enjoy doing while away from school; which games do they enjoy playing; etc……
