Congratulations to all our students who have already completed the Premier’s Reading Challenge! BHPS students have already read and entered 7,593 books!!! Amazing effort. Remember to keep adding your books to the challenge even after you have completed the challenge because the class who reads the most books will win a PIZZA LUNCH! The challenge finishes on the 2nd of September, so we still have plenty of days of reading to go. Please see your teacher if you have forgotten your log in details. Follow this link to add all the books you have read, including books read to you by your teacher or family…

If you haven’t yet logged in at home to our new Library management system, Accessit, check it out to view our entire Library catalogue and Library timetable. Every student has their own log in details and once logged in you will be able to see what books students have on loan, when they are due back, get information about upcoming events and explore new books as they arrive! This is a really valuable tool to get all the Library information you need and for students to even put books on reserve! Be sure to explore our Library over the holidays.

Term 3 will be another big term for Library with our annual CBCA Book Week, August 20th - 26th and Scholastic Book Fair! To celebrate Book Week we will be having a special webinar with author illustrator Trace Balla, on Friday 26th August. Trace fits in nicely with this year’s Book Week theme, Dreaming with eyes open. Trace has produced award winning books such as Rivertime, Rockhopping and the beautiful story Landing with Wings. We are also celebrating with a Book Character dress up day on the same day, Friday 26th August. This will not involve any donations. Students are encouraged to come to school in a costume that represents their favourite book character. Just giving lots of notice to be able to think about what your child/ren may like to dress up as or be able to create costumes over the school holidays. We look forward to seeing who or what are our student’s favourite characters!

Happy Reading!
