Room 14
This term Mrs Marie has been recovering from knee surgery. Ms Robertson has been teaching in Room 14. We’ve been busy setting goals and working persistently to achieve them. We’ve enjoyed working with children from Room 13 and Room 7 for Phonics Groups. We have learnt new sounds and we’re applying this to our reading and writing.
In Maths we’ve been learning about Subitising, Friends of Ten and Fractions. We like playing Maths Games such a Dice Adding and Buzz. By participating in these games, we’ve become more fluent with subitising and counting on. To celebrate our achievements with our topic on Fractions, we had a Pizza Party.
Each afternoon for Mindfulness, we follow an art tutorial on Artventure. Art is a form of meditation and is a great way to calm our bodies. The children have become more confident with their drawing and really look forward to our daily Artventure.
On Wednesday 29th June we celebrated International Mud Day.
The children had a fun afternoon making Mud Pies, jumping in muddy puddles and making muddy rivers for the animals. After we dried off, we warmed up with a cup of hot chocolate.
This week, we have been celebrating NAIDOC Week. We have been reading Dreamtime Stories and learning about Aboriginal Symbols.
