Parents & Friends

Well May madness is over and it's time to look forward to what we’ve got planned in the coming months.
Working Bee - Sunday 19th June 9:30am to 12noon.
Please come along for some of the morning. It will be great to see people together on site. We also welcome new families joining us in 2023 to come along and get to know their new school community. If you know your neighbours or kinder friends are starting at OPS next year, please extend our invitation to them.
A sausage sizzle will be provided, please bring any garden tools that will assist on the day.
Bright Nights - Saturday 27th Aug
Everyone should have received the ‘Save the date’ for Bright Nights via Compass. This will be our annual parent function. This is a fun parent only event to be run at a local venue. This is a new event and will enable us to all get together and have some bright fun in these cold winter months.
More details to follow, but lock your babysitters in, start thinking of your favourite songs and get ready for a fabulously Bright Night!
In preparation for our Bright Nights major fundraising event in August, we are putting a call out to school families to see if you, your family or friends have a business and may like to donate an item or service to be used as a raffle or auction item. Some ideas below are:
- Golf day experiences (anyone a member of a golf club?)
- Weekend escapes (anyone own a holiday house?)
- Food (anyone manage a restaurant/cafe?)
- Wine (anyone have winery connections?)
- Sporting / Entertainment experiences (anyone work for a sporting club or entertainment venue?)
Businesses involved in making a donation will be acknowledged and promoted on the Facebook page and school newsletter. Please put your thinking caps on about who may be able to assist and let's make this fundraising event a big one!
Contact Amy Ashford to discuss further.
- Save the Date -
Father’s Day Coffee Van - Friday 2nd September
We had so much positive feedback from the Mother’s Day coffee van that it's time to give the dads, grandads, step-dads and favourite uncles in our students lives a turn. More details to come but put this in your calendars to make sure you’ve got time for a quick look around your children's classrooms. The students were so excited to be able to show off their rooms. I'm sure they will be thrilled to do it again.
Join our Facebook Group 'OPS Parents and Friends Community Kindness' to see regular reminders of what's going on at school, and to swap resources such as second hand uniform with other parents.
We welcome new volunteers and new ideas! You can contact us at anytime on p.and.f.ormond@gmail.com.
