Learning

DEPUTY PRINCIPAL, Learning & Teaching

As we move into the final weeks of the school term, the assessment schedule begins in earnest.  Students in Years 10 -12 complete examinations and/or final SACs and students from Years 7 – 9 complete in class assessments to demonstrate their learning from this term.  It is a busy time of year for the entire school community.

While it has been a real blessing to have two full terms of onsite learning, we are cognizant to the reality that it has been far from the return to ‘uninterrupted learning’ that we envisaged.  Many staff and students have had to isolate over these two terms, battle illness and, upon their return, juggle the demands of catching up.  Understanding that a student’s wellbeing is paramount, we will negotiate some adjustments to the catch up schedule for relevant students. We encourage students and families to communicate any concerns they have about school absence and missed assessment and we will work to support you over the coming weeks.

Our End of Semester Reports will be available on 24 June at 4pm. In instances where a student has not been able to catch up on missed assessment due to Covid or the flu, assessment tasks will be assigned ‘NA: a school approved absence’ on the report. Reports will be available through the Parent Portal PAM and we will send out an email reminder on the day to all parents.

As always, please let us know if there is anything further we can do to support students at this busy time.
