Year Three News

Week 1 & 2 Newsletter

Hello Year Three Families,

What a busy first week back to Term Four! Students attended camp at Phillip Island and had a fantastic time. It was great to see students giving everything a go and stepping out of their comfort zones.

Year Three Camp

On day one, we travelled to Phillip Island by bus and stopped in San Remo to watch the pelican feeding. Once we arrived at the camp students were put into their activity groups with a teacher and found out who was in their cabins. In the afternoon, we gave the students time to unpack their belongings and get settled into their cabins before having dinner and heading off to the penguin parade where we saw lots of penguins!

On day two, students woke up and had breakfast before splitting off into their groups where they completed a set of activities for the day. Students took part in: canoeing, raft making, archery, low ropes, flying fox, the giant swing, a photo hunt, initiatives course and a set of beach activities at Smiths beach. It was great to see all the students cheering each other on, and encouraging their group members when being risk-takers to complete all their activities. After we had dinner, the Year Three’s had a movie night with popcorn where we watched, 'Cars'.

On our final day, students woke up and tidied their cabins before heading over for breakfast. Students had the rest of the morning to complete two more activities with their group before the bus ride home. Students were risk-takers during all activities, especially when the rain came!

Students at school

Students who didn’t attend the Phillip Island Camp participated in fun, team building activities whilst at school. These students made their own board game, created a tower using food items and made cloud dough! The students who remained at school, showed exceptional principled behaviour by being active communicators when making news friends with students from across Year Three.

Camp- Parent Volunteers

In addition, we would like to make a special mention to our wonderful parent helpers. Without them, the students wouldn't have had such an unforgettable experience. Their continuous support and flexibility truly helped all students and teachers to have a very positive time whilst on camp.

On behalf of the Year Three team, we would like to say thank you to all students who attended the camp and did a fantastic job representing our school.

Kind Regards,

Year Three Teachers
