Welcome to Term 4

This is usually the term where we focus on all of the End-Of-Year events and productions.

This year is no different.

Year Seven Exhibition

We have already hit the ground running preparing for the Year Seven Exhibition that occurred on Tuesday 11 October.  As part of this exhibition, a selected group of Year Seven musicians are presenting what they have learned in Music during the year covering:

  • The Periods of Music
  • Foundation of Music
  • The Circle of Fifths
  • Composition

The highlight of the presentation was their live composition exercise, where Molly created a musical backing track from scratch using GarageBand on her laptop.  The ensemble then performed the song "Dandelion" by Ruth B, with William playing on the electric guitar whilst the girls sang their parts in close harmony.

This was a very beautiful and moving performance.

Christmas Carols

Our Christmas Carols event this year will be held on the School Oval on Wednesday 14 December at 5:30pm.  Every class within our Primary school will be involved.   As part of the preparation, the teachers and students will be attending Music classes to learn their carols, and record them so that they can enhance their live performances.  That means all of the 50+ classes will be having a lesson within the Music room this term, which has been converted into a makeshift recording studio.  We are looking forward to hearing what our students and teachers have come up with.

We've also taken this opportunity to catch up on some classes that weren't able to receive music lessons earlier in the year.

Year Six Graduation

A group of Year Six students have formed a small singing group to perform at their Graduation which will occur on Thursday 8 December.

This group will meet every week over the coming months, and the repertoire will be selected by the students.
