Principal's Report

Welcome back to another term. It is jam packed full of events that includes three camps, NAPLAN, Education Week, Reconciliation Week, Cross Country, School Tours, Work beginning on our ANZAC garden, semester reports and much more.

You should be very proud…

To the ICAN walkers on Thursday 1st April (last day of term) I was incredibly proud of your efforts, attitudes, commitment and fundraising.  To be part of something bigger than yourselves is very satisfying! To contribute to $100,000 being handed over to the Royal Children’s Hospital was an incredible achievement for Langwarrin PS but also the three other schools we teamed up with to raise that amount.  This is the first time all four schools (EMC, Langwarrin, Woodlands and Langwarrin Park) have participated in the ICAN walk and it won’t be the last.

Thanks Mr Smith, Miss Toates, Mrs Hansted and Mrs Pepper for your organisation throughout the term to ensure the event went ahead successfully.

It’s still hat weather…..

Students should still be wearing hats up until the end of April.  Our Sunsmart policy has recently been updated with the new Sunsmart advice which states there is a higher level of risk in April.  So please ensure your child still has their hat in their bag or at school to wear until the end of week 2.

Real Schools Parent Night

It is finally here (after a few cancellations in 2020).

This is a free session with Simon Dewar of Real Schools.  Simon has been working closely with the Langwarrin staff over the past 18 months on utilizing the restorative practices model to reach positive behavioural and academic outcomes for our students.  Simon is looking forward to providing this seminar to our parent community to discuss the following:

  1. How do schools and parents get on the same page about the important stuff?
  2. How do we build a partnership around building fantastic young people for today and tomorrow?
  3. How can our teachers AND parents use the same strategies to manage behaviour, encourage responsibility and improve chances of success?
