Celebrating the growth in our wonderful children on each learning level...

Grade 1

This week, the Grade 1 students took part in the Mad about Science incursion ‘Water and the Environment.’ The students conducted various experiments centered on the theme of water. The students loved being scientists and had so much fun carrying out the various experiments. You could try asking your child to show you how to float a paperclip on the surface of water!

Grade 2

This week the Grade 2 students had a special visit from the Rookeeper. We met Sam the bearded dragon, Rex the shingleback lizard, Simpson and Peter the pythons, Gigi the squirrel glider and Alba the alpine dingo. We learnt facts about these animals and the importance of being sustainable to protect them. We even got to hold Peter the python!

Grade 3/4

Our amazing Grade 3 students have had a busy week with NAPLAN testing. Each morning they came in prepared and ready for the next challenge. We couldn’t be prouder of the effort they put in and their determination to do their very best. Every student displayed Big 10 Number 9 – Try hard all the time even when it is challenging! Now we wait patiently for their results to arrive in September.

A special thank you to the fantastic Grade 4 students who have shown flexibility and independence in their learning this week. They have been learning about patterns in Numeracy and finding information in a text in Reading.  It has been lovely to watch them cheering on their Grade 3 classmates and supporting them throughout this busy week.

Grade 5 and 6

Well done to Grade 5, who sat the NAPLAN assessments this week. Students worked very hard in the lead up to the tests. They completed Snapshots weekly in class. Some students also had a go home too! They practised key skills in lessons and set themselves goals. We are very proud of all students for their positive attitude and for trying their personal best. They deserve a pat on the back!

Grade 6 have had a busy week researching volcanoes in relation to our Inquiry topic this term. Students learnt about volcanoes in preparation for making one!
