Cyberia: Mental Health and Cyber Safety Program

On Friday, 30th April, Year 10s and Year 9s attended a performance called Cyberia. This live performance explored cyber bullying, mental health, resilience and online safety.

The performance was created in collaboration and consultation with education and mental health experts. Real student experiences and compelling narrative were used to raise important questions about student’s online behaviours.

Cyberia sought to also provide students with practical tools to assist them in staying safe, connection and resilience in the face of challenges. The session concluded with an open Q n A and students were given the opportunity to answer and ask questions.

On Friday, 30th April, all year 9s attended a cyber safe incursion performed by Cyberia in the library. This performance was based on cyber safety. The key message of the play was how to be cyber safe and who to go for help when we needed it. We all enjoyed the show and many people had huge smiles on their faces. The Cyberia incursion was an amazing experience for all of us!

RAISE Mentoring Program

The RAISE Mentoring Program is run over 25 weeks during Terms 2, 3 and 4. Students have a nominated Mentor and each week there is a specific theme they work on together. The themes are based on health, wellbeing and relationships. Students benefit from having a neutral, adult role model to talk to and mentor them. The mentors are trained to assist students with identifying and achieving goals. At the end of the program, students have a final session where they reflect and celebrate their successes.
