SRC Cluster

SRC Group 2021
SRC Group 2021

Some of our SRC representatives participated in the 2021 Whittlesea Cluster on Tuesday 11th May. They had the opportunity to work collaboratively with like minded students from Whittlesea Secondary College and Al Siraat College to discuss issues, express concerns and share their opinions about areas of focus for the year ahead. The program aims to develop leadership capacity in our young people, create a network of young leaders and support young leaders to “take action” in raising awareness of focus areas both within our college and the wider community. The 11 students who participated in the event thoroughly enjoyed the process, acquiring new knowledge along the way. Our students’ engagement and enthusiasm was exemplary and all are very much looking forward to the next meeting.

On Tuesday, 11th May, the SRC cluster meeting in the library. The Cluster consists of SRC representatives from Whittlesea Secondary College, Al Siraat College and us here at Epping Secondary College. The first activity for the day was an ice breaker game to get to know one another. We then brainstormed the major priorities for focus for each school for 2021. We presented are concerns to the group. Next, we ranked and discussed our issues and what we could solve by term 3. One of the things we want at the school is working digital clocks in all the classrooms. We spent time discussing what makes a good leader and what characteristics good leaders display. Overall, the SRC cluster was an amazing experience and I cannot wait to do it again next term.
