Garden Update

Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter break. Throughout term 1, the 5/6 students took excellent care of the garden. Thanks to Bev and Mrs McHenry for their help in looking after our chickens and garden across the holidays.

During term 2 the 3/4 students will be harvesting figs, pomegranates and radishes that were grown by the 5/6 students in Science. They will learn about the benefits of a hothouse as we start to grow seedlings in the cooler months.

The Share Table will now be organised by the 3/4 students on a Wednesday afternoon. Please enjoy some of our fresh produce with your family and if you have any surplus fruit or vegetables from your garden, please bring it to the garden shed on a Wednesday morning and the students will share it with the school community.

Kitchen Update

Welcome back to term two in our kitchen.

It is going to be an exciting term in the kitchen as we see the return of our Mudbrick café on Wednesday 5th May. Please read our attached menu for this month's café which uses seasonal fruit and vegetables grown in our school garden.

Our Café offers our School Leaders great  opportunities to enhance their skills in a variety of areas including hospitality, maths, writing, speaking and listening , and also a chance to engage with members of the Teesdale community.

This term Mr Smith's class will be in the kitchen learning new skills and tasting  a variety of foods. The focus will be on tasty lunchbox ideas along with an occasional sweet treat. If you have a child in Mr Smith's class and would like to help out please see our attached flyer.

In our senior school it is time for the grade 3/4  to enjoy the kitchen.

This week they learnt about how the program works and safety around the kitchen and garden.

They finished the session with some lovely fruit smoothies. If you have a child in grade 3/4 classes and would like to help out please see our attached flyer.
