Aboriginal Student Program

National Sorry Day

26 May, 2022

As part of National Sorry Day, we remember and acknowledge the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as ‘The Stolen Generations’.

On Thursday, students took the time to reflect on and learn about this day in PCG. Our experienced didgeridoo players, Beau Hart, George Warmdean, Emmet Hodder-Ryan and Derell Corunna performed for students at lunch and spent time teaching our younger students new sounds on the didgeridoo while working on their circular breathing.

Jayden performs at the Sir Doug Nicholls Round

Year 8 student Jayden Cole performed at Optus Stadium last Sunday for the Sir Doug Nicholls Round between Fremantle and Collingwood. Jayden was a part of a group that performed the Spirit Dance as a part of the Welcome to Country by Dr Richard Walley OAM.

Although he loved being out there, the cold and wet conditions weren’t the best!
