Year 11 Futures Week

Year 11 Futures Week took place during the final three days of Term One. Students participated in a range of activities and workshops with a focus on life after school. Year 11s signed up for a workshop in their selected interest area. Workshops included a presentation by Victoria Police and a 000 call taker, practical sessions with a Physiotherapist, Q&A with the RMIT STEMM team, playing the Federation University – ‘Uni Quest’ game and a presentation with a past student who shared his experience as an apprentice Plumber. Other students selected to complete Virtual Work Experience and online Webinars with the ADF.

The group came together to meet with Tyson Day from Arrive and Thrive. Tyson works with young people to increase employment rates and work engagement through the development of career management and self-development skills whilst enhancing mindsets. Through the interactive workshop, Tyson worked with the year 11s to understand the formula to design a career that has purpose and meaning while also understanding the importance of values in this process
