Year 9 News

What a great few weeks it has been for the year 9 students. We had a few Outdoor Education students attend in an outdoor camping experience at Phillip Island in term 1. Outdoor activities undertaken included bushwalking, surfing, base camping, beach games and cooking on trangias. Followed by an Otways experience in term 2 which included bushwalking, mountain biking, base camping, and cooking on trangias. Feedback from students was remarkable, really enjoying the outdoor beauty. Big thank you to Mr Malcolm and Mr Watson for running fantastic camps for the year 9 elective OES classes.

The year 9 debate team having been working hard with regular meeting and lunch time preparation for all their upcoming debates. Thank you to Miss Matthews and Mrs White in making this possible.

Congratulations to all year 9 students who participated in NAPLAN last week. All students were fantastic in understanding the ICT skills and giving their best towards the literacy and numeracy tests. The year 9 leaders were very impressed with students arriving at the designated times and following instructions every day. You should all be super proud on the efforts and ownership that you’ve shown towards your learning. A big thank you to Karin Miller, the principal team, I.T team, Gary, all teachers and LSA staff members involved in supervising and organising students during NAPLAN week. It wouldn’t have been possible without all the help and support.
