Middle School News

This week Middle years had their first swimming session. Students enjoyed visiting the Broadmeadow’s swimming pool to take part in a lesson that focused on expected behaviours around the pool, water safety and swimming skills. All the classes reported that students really enjoyed these lessons and are looking forward to next week.
In the playground staff and students have been playing tag. Many of our students will now actively ask other students and staff on duty to play with them. Leah was playing three different games of tag with three different students all at once! Our next goal is to get multiple students playing with a member of staff in one game. Playground is a fantastic time for students to work on their personal and social capabilities goals as there are many chances to interact and socialise with others in a less structured play space.
IN PE, students have been playing trust games. Students have had to untangle themselves in the ‘Human Knot”. Other games include using blindfolds and relying on your partner to lead you safely around the playground without bumping into anything.
This week we thanked our Education Support staff for the work they do in the classroom. We celebrated ES day this week. Thank you to our ES for the hard work you do each day.
Room 15
Room 15 have had a great start to the term.
Since returning from holidays we have settled right back into our daily routines, following our schedule and classroom expectations. Room 15 is full of fantastic artists who have enjoyed a range of crafts from drawing to colouring to figure/creature making with pipe cleaners. Throughout the year we enjoyed a range of activities including Music, PE, Art, Cooking and have just started swimming lessons.
I look forward to what the rest of the year will bring.
