Principal's Report

Wrapping up the 2021 academic year and looking forward to 2022

Last week our 2021 academic year finished up with our students completing their exams, PAT Testing and their final subject-based assessments. We would like to congratulate all our students for doing their absolute best in another interrupted and at times difficult year.

On Friday 26th November, our teachers used our student data, including from these final pieces of assessment, to get to know the students in their 2022 classes and to plan further activities in Headstart that will allow them to understand their students’ entry points for learning to help them better differentiate the curriculum next year.

Our Headstart program began this week and there has been a nice feel around the College as we all start to look forward to a fresh start in 2022. Headstart is running this week for our 2022 VCE students and continues into next week for our 2022 Year 8, 9 and 10 students. We encourage all our students to make the most of these two weeks to get to know their new teachers and what is coming up in their classes next year.

Year 6 to 7 Orientation Day next week

Next Tuesday 7th December, we will be inviting all of our new Year 7 students for 2022 into the school for the statewide Year 7 Orientation Day. Our new Year 7 students will get a chance to meet some of their teachers for next year and will be involved in a range of activities to help them get to know the College and to help them build new relationships with other students in Year 7 next year. We are looking forward to meeting all of our new students next week.

A parent information night is also being run for parents of our new Year 7 students on Monday 6th December from 6:30 – 7:30pm at the College.
