Step into SFS

This week we had our Foundation students who will commence school at St Francis de Sales in 2022, take a giant BIG step and join us for a party to celebrate that they will be big school kids at SFS next year.

It was a summer's morning when our excited children and parents gathered beside the community room. We sang songs and broke into teams for a variety of FUN activities. Then like in all parties we enjoyed some lovely party food. Everyone left very happy with their party bag and a big SFS balloon.

We cannot wait to see our 2022 children again for a final orientation day. They will join the whole school as they gather in their new Home groups on Tuesday 14th December to meet their 2022 Home Group teacher.

Jessie in the Jungle

Today it was our Juniors turn to STAR!!

Star they did as they performed their hearts out under the lights in our beautifully created stage in our community room.

During the week, lead by Louise our Visual Arts Teacher, our staff worked together to transform the backdrop into a jungle, complete with vines, monkeys and other jungle animals. It looked sensational.

The children dressed in their adorable costumes and face make-up were transformed into the cutest animals. They danced and sang and did everything that was asked of them and more. We are so proud of each one of our young stars.

It was worth all the effort and expense to give our children this experience. It was all about having FUN. Experiences like this build confidence and resilience. We need to work together as a team.  Our children certainly did.

As we conclude our 2021 productions, it is important to thank Kristy and Rachel our Performing Arts teachers. For their script writing, vision, costume organisation, direction and production of the 2021 concerts our immense gratitude. To Louise our Visual Arts teacher we thank you for your direction, organisation and production of our props. They were brilliant. To Ange and Louise thank you for the work setting scenes and managing backstage. A huge thank you to our staff our junior staff for their work in supporting and helping their home groups prepare for the Jessie in the Jungle concert. Thanks especially to Mavis and Maddison for the choreography and to Kristy's parents - Mary-Rose and Charlie, for sewing and decorating the children's costumes. Thanks to our senior staff and admin staff for their willingness to help behind the scenes. It was a team effort and I am so proud of our school.
