Vocational Education and Training

The year has finished very positively for our VET students. HSC exams start for VET courses next week and we wish those students sitting the exams well.

Year 11 hasn’t been able to complete any Work placements, and this has enabled more time to be spent on the course content which will benefit students leading into Year 12.

CONSTRUCTION

Year 11 Construction has completed their Dog Kennels and will now begin learning about leveling and completing site setouts.

MANUFACTURING AND ENGINEERING

Manufacturing and Engineering are just about to start to spray paint their toolboxes which will look impressive once completed.

HOSPITALITY

Year 11 Hospitality catered for the Presentation Sisters with a three course meal as part of their Assessment Task for Hospitality. Both classes designed the menu and learned about service in a simulated fine dining environment. The menu was alternating and consisted of zucchini and pea fritters with smoked salmon, spiced pumpkin filo rolls with harissa yogurt. Afterwards warm balsamic and lamb salad or mushroom and lemon pasta was served.

The Presentation Sisters then received a sweet box to take home consisting of vanilla cheesecake, lime, white chocolate and coconut truffles and strawberries dipped in chocolate. It was a great learning experience for all the students who displayed excellent teamwork and communication skills.
