Creative Arts / Photography

We are fast approaching the end of our school year, but the creativity is continuing to be explored in all classes.

YEAR 7

Year 7 Visual Arts students have been working toward completing their final Inquiry task exploring the theme of Steampunk. Students were able to create and explain their concept and the progress of their artwork, while also providing an historical context to their work.

Year 7 are now exploring digital media, the application of Photoshop and developing their composition in a painting.

YEAR 8

Year 8 Visual Arts students have explored the genre of Still Life and created compositions which are a still life self portrait. The process of the Still Life was the focus of their final Inquiry Task, where they documented their concept development and provided an artist's statement to explain their Still Life Portrait to an audience. Students will finish off the term completing a lino print which is also informed by their Still Life composition.

YEAR 10

Year 10 Visual Arts students have been exploring their own concepts to create interesting artworks. Students have used a variety of contemporary artmaking practices to explore their compositions which have been really successful so far. As a part of the process, students have also been working in their Visual Arts Process Diary to document techniques, styles and artists of interest. It will be fantastic to see the final works.

YEAR 12

Year 12 Visual artists have now embarked on their HSC journey. There has been much planning and experimentation as they work towards developing sustained concepts for their Body of Work. Students have also engaged in learning about how social and political commentary have been used throughout art history as a means for artists to make comments to a wide audience. The conversation and written responses have been most insightful.
