BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED

I AM GRATEFUL FOR...

Dress up days! It is so nice to see the fun and enjoyment back in the school grounds, and all our students and staff getting involved in these fantastic activities. Everyone looked amazing and clearly enjoyed the day.

PLAYGROUND UPDATE

We are still finalizing some of the contract arrangements with our supplier and permits via Heritage Victoria for the installation of the playground. Once all this has been completed we will be able to share the finalized design with you all – we cannot wait!

TRANSITION AND ORIENTATION

Our 2022 Prep transition sessions are commencing Thursday next week, and we have already had some virtual sessions to welcome them to school. All students will meet their new teachers for 2022 on the State Wide Transition Day, which is Tuesday the 7th of December. This is when every student gets to meet their new teachers. Our current year 6’s visit their secondary schools and our 2022 Prep students come and join us for the morning.

More information about this day will be provided closer to the date. Class allocations are decided during the week before, and the teachers dedicate an enormous amount of time towards ensuring the classes are carefully balanced to best meet the needs of their students.

REPORTS AND PARENT INPUT

Our 2022 student reports will be sent out to parents on the second last day of term. We will also be asking parents to write a short comment to be included in their child’s report. This is a great opportunity for you to reflect on all the learning and growth they have shown over the year and to share it with your child. There will be a Google form that goes out closer to the end of term to allow you to add your own thoughts to your child’s report if you wish to do so.

PARENT 2022 BUDDIES

As we welcome new families to our community we would like to provide them with opportunities to connect with our existing families and feel welcome. We will be looking for existing families that are happy to be parent buddies for 2022. Signing up to be a buddy would simply mean that we would provide you with the contact details of one of our new families so that you can reach out to get a coffee or walk to school together. Please keep an eye on Compass for an update about signing up to be a parent buddy.

WE WILL MISS YOU!

We know that some families are moving house, moving state, or there are other things happening for them that mean they will be leaving our community at the end of the year. If you are intending to leave the school for any reason can you please notify us via email at south.melbourne.park.ps@education.vic.gov.au so that we can factor this into our future planning.
