Learning & Teaching News

Welcome to Term 4
Term 4 is always an exciting time for myself as Deputy Principal Learning and Teaching . We see the celebration of everything that is so wonderful about our great College.
We start in Week Two with the VCAL Project Evening – Cranbourne Campus on Monday, 14 October 2019. This night involves our Year 12 students demonstrating the competencies they have gained over the past twelve months via an oral presentation to parents, family and friends. These evenings always inspire me and give me hope for our future generation of young men and women as I learn about not only the myriad of projects but I see the growth in confidence, skills and resilience of the students at St Peter’s.
Following our VCAL presentations, parents and students are invited to our Cranbourne Campus Arts and Technology Exhibition. This event showcases the creative talents of students at the College and never fails to leave me in awe. This week as I spoke to staff regards the set up, I was excited about the “large scale “exhibits to which parents, students and friends can look forward.
Tuesday, 15 October 2019 continues with the VCAL Project Evening – Clyde North Campus. Although the Clyde North campus is several years younger, the projects, skills and talents demonstrated at this evening are always outstanding. Via a multitude of innovative projects students are able to demonstrate twenty first century skills of collaboration, communication and creativity.
In Week 4 of Term on Monday, 28 October, we have the Clyde Campus Arts and Technology Exhibition. Again this event showcases the artistic and creative talents of our students and inspires those who attend to achieve more, be more and dare to dream.
All parents, students and friends are warmly invited to attend any of these events. It is a culmination of the hard work and dedication of both students and staff at the College .
HEADSTART 2020
All parents and students are reminded that all students commence studies of their 2020 Subjects on Wednesday, 20 November 2019. Each year level will move to the 2020 timetable and as far as possible 2020 teachers will undertake their classes. St Peter’s is proud of the fact that we do not wind down at the end of the year. Instead we continue to provide engaging educational experiences for students which set them in good stead for the 2020 academic year. Parents are asked to support the College by not booking family holidays before the official end of the school year.
