Year 2 Excursion

My Park Excursion by Kenisha

Hi everybody.  I am going to tell you all about our excursion to Royal Park.

First they told us about habitats and birds. Then we played a game. So, we had four plastic plates. They had buttons, sticks and a marble. You had to pick up as many things as you could with a spoon, clip or tweezers. And I got the marble.

Next they talked more about habitats and birds.

Then we played another game.  The game was about the Sacred Kingfisher and the threats it faced to its habitat from humans. So we had some hula hoops. Then we needed two cats and foxes. In the hula hoops were the people who weren’t the cat or the fox. If they went out of the hula hoop the cat and the fox can get you.

Finally we did a bird watch. We needed binoculars and a bird checklist. After that we ran to a tree and came back. So all the insects woke up and the Welcome Swallow could eat them.

Our Park Excursion by Arthur

On Wednesday morning it was a school excursion. We were all excited. We went to the Royal Melbourne Hospital Park. We saw Park Rangers. One was called Jim and one was called Michael. We were split with Michael. 2E came along with us. Our group looked at stuffed birds while 2E were looking at stuffed animals. We played games nonstop then we did a bird hunt. We got a sheet and a pen and a pair of binoculars and searched for birds. On the sheet we ticked the ones we got. Then we went back to school and had lunch then moved on with the day.
