Farm Garden Update

VCAL students have been busy working in the Veggie Garden.  They have been keeping an eye out for pests and discussing the best way to deal with them.  Weeds are a constant battle, but the students and Mr Mitchell have them under control.

As well as the garden, the team has been welding up a rake to hold the garden tools in the shed.  This has been attached to the back wall, making the shed a much better place to work.

Winton Raceway

Our VCAL students had a wonderful excursion to the Supercars at Winton Raceway.

Mr Powell had a contact this year with Robbie Starr, Chief Engineer for HRT.  They went to school together in Yarrawonga.  He has worked his way up from changing tyres to being in control of the race cars on race day.

Liam Hindle got interviewed by WIN News.  It looks like they had a great day out and a very special experience, opening their eyes to vocational potential and opportunities in an ever changing work place.
