Careers Day Out Year 10

Year 10 students from Cobram SC attended the Career's Day Out on Tuesday 30th April at the Shepparton Show grounds. Students had the opportunity to explore their career options by accessing a range of displays, workshops, presentations, activities and information about courses and pathways within the region and beyond.  Quotes from students –

VCE & Careers Expo 

Year 11 & 12 students attended The Age VCE and Careers Expo in Melbourne on Friday 3rd May where they had the opportunity to gather careers and further education information, attend seminars and explore a range of pathway options. 

 

A big thank you to Cobram Youth Foundation for providing us with transport to attend this fantastic event.

 

Hands On Trade Careers 

A group of VCAL students attended the Hands On Trades Expo at Winton Motor Raceway on Thursday 9th May. Students had a great day out engaging with employers, further education providers, apprenticeship centres and industry groups. 

Year 9 Career Service 

As part of a class activity, Year 9 students recently participated in a ‘Morrisby Online’ career profiling session. The students completed a series of quizzes and surveys, the results of which will help them with future career decisions. 

 

As a follow up, students will attend a careers interview in term 2 or 3 to further explore their results. Special thanks to Manto’s Produce for providing the students with delicious fruit snacks to sustain them throughout the session.

Defence Force Gap Year program

Current Year 12 student can apply for the 2020 Defence Force Gap Year program. Places are strictly limited and will only be open for a short time.

UCAT

The UCAT test has replaced UMAT (Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test) for 2019. Students who are planning to apply to Medicine, Dentistry and Health Science courses commencing in 2020 at participating universities MUST sit the UCAT 2019 test in the month of July 2019.
