Carlie Ross-Soden-Business Manager
After 21 years in the General Office, I’m super excited to be taking on the role of Business Manager at Cobram Secondary College. My journey began in 1997 after my Year 12 exams when I was approached by our Careers Councillor, Hugh Crapp, to offer the ladies in the office some assistance. I worked for a couple of weeks and was asked if I was interested in completing a traineeship the following year. I jumped at the idea as I had intended to go to uni to become a teacher and thought this would give me some experience of what it was like to work within the industry.
I enjoyed my year as a trainee in the office and committed to Cobram Secondary College in an ongoing position. My role here has varied in so many aspects over the years. I love the school community and have enjoyed getting to know so many families. It’s amazing to see some of our past students all grown up who now have children of their own attending Cobram Secondary College.
Working closely and establishing great relationships with the wider community is extremely important to me, having connections with the local business houses through seeking sponsorship for our Annual Presentation Evening in my previous role has made the transition to the Business Manager position an easy one. I look forward to the future direction of Cobram Secondary College with our new funding announcement. I’m sure my role be huge however I’m looking forward to some exciting times ahead. It will be fantastic to see my children enjoy the wonderful facilities Cobram Secondary College will have an offer in the next couple of years.
