World Challenge 2019
Nepal preparations are underway.
Recently, our World Challenge participants attended their Training Expedition in the Warby Ranges National Park outside Wangaratta.
This allowed the team, comprising six students from Cobram Secondary College and three students from Shepparton High School and one from Wanganui Secondary College, to come together to learn the finer points of their expedition gear and the realities of their challenging program ahead in Nepal in December.
Facilitated by our Expedition Leader, Mel Nicholson, the group was through their paces, from learning to walk with full hiking packs, to exploring their extensive gear list, group safety, map reading and navigation and the cultural immersion they will have to embrace in country.
It was a great thrill to watch the dynamics of the group over the weekend as they became more comfortable with each other and cemented their group identity. Their questioning and enthusiasm for embarking on this journey of discovery in Nepal was inspiring. This promises to be an amazing group to take on a World Challenge expedition.
