Year 12

Student are well into the home straight of their final year at Mooroopna Secondary College.

For those undertaking VCE exams, they will commence with English on Wednesday 31st October. All students have received their individual timetables and instructions for the exams. All exams will run at the school. Preparation for exams is well underway, many classes are being offered for students over the holidays to optmise their scores. A practice English exam will be held under full exam conditions on Wednesday 10th October 9.00 am – 12.15 pm.  A light lunch is being offered for all Yr 12 students at the conclusion of the exam followed by a relaxation/ meditation session to assist students through the exam period and later in life. Normal classes will run through to Thursday 24th October.

VCAL/ Non Scored students are required at school until Friday 25th October. They are required to ensure that they have satisfactorily completed all Outcomes for their subjects and will need to complete a ‘Sign Off’ for each of their teachers. The VCAL luncheon to ‘showcase’ the student’s projects will be held at ‘The Connection’ on Friday 19th October. These students are encouraged to undertake Work Experience before the end of the school year to optimse their opportunities to obtain full time on-going pathways. TAFE classes conclude on Wednesday 17th October, students will be required to attend MSC on Wednesday 24th October.

The first three weeks of Term 4 will pass very quickly with revision and preparation for the ‘End of Year’ Assembly. This will be held on Friday 25th October 9.20 am – 10.30 am followed by a morning tea in C12. More information and invitations regarding the last few weeks and the Valedictory Dinner will be given out to students during the first week of term.

 

Year 11

Students who are Fast Tracking a VCE 3/4 subject will be preparing for their exams. When classes finish for those subjects, students will be required to work in C12.

Year 11 exams will commence in Week 6  12th – 16th November. This will be followed by a two week Early Commencement program to prepare students for their critical Year 12 year. Subjects for 2019 will be finalized for Year 11 students during Week One, and Early Resources Booklists will be issued.

 

Year 10

It has been a busy few weeks for Year 10 students. Many have had the opportunity to attend several excursions – Empowerme, RMIT (Melbourne), La Trobe (Bendigo) and SAM. They also had an incursion from Vic Roads in relation to Road Safety. Term 4 will continue to offer extra- curricular opportunities for the students with the “Ice Tour” presentation during week One and the High Light of Year 10 – 'The Formal'. Students have been issued with the invitation and clear instructions regarding the formal. It will be held at The Connection on Thursday 18th October 6.30 – 10.30 pm. If any students were not at school to receive the letter, they are available from the front office. Tickets will be available for purchase in the first few days of the term.

Year 10 subjects are being adjusted to the blocking for 2019 and students will receive these during the first few weeks. Early resources booklists will also be issued.
