Industry Employment Summary

In February this year, the Department of Employment released the trend in employment

indicating that employment increased in nine industries and declined in 10 over the year to

February 2020.

Health Care and Social Assistance; Education and Training and Professional, Scientific and

Technical Services made the largest contributions to employment growth. The largest falls in employment were recorded in Retail Trade and Public Administration and Safety.

Safety.

Employment in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and Manufacturing industries is expected

to continue to fall.
