Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Congratulations to every member of the Gold Street community for making it through a year like no other.  Full of challenges and opportunities for growth, 2020 has unified our community and made us stronger in ways we could not have expected.

To our teachers I give sincere thanks.  I am forever in awe of Gold Street teachers for their levels of professionalism, passion and commitment to ensuring our students and families remained connected this year.  I am so grateful for their capacity to redefine the way they taught and acceptance of the need to respond quickly to the changing environment of 2020.

To our children who demonstrated immense resilience and capacity to manage change.  And of course to our parents and carers who had to step in and step up to ensure continuity for their children's learning.  What a roller coaster it has been!

2021 Staffing

We farewell Anita Veness who has been a much-loved teacher with us for 6 years.  Anita has made a sea change and we wish her well at her new school.  Jaime Bannerman who supports many students as an Integration Aide is moving on to a new school with her full teaching qualifications.  We thank both Anita and Jaimie for their contributions to the Gold Street community and will miss them both.

Three other members of staff taking leave in 2021; Rebekah Kirchner, Karen Dileo and Charlotte White.

2021 is shaping up to be an exciting year with the increasing return to a normal school experience for all.  Congratulations to our 2021 School Captains who were announced yesterday; Minnie Frawley, Millie Maher, Luca Rhodes and Orlando Cigognini. There was an exemplary nominee pool this year and we thank all students for putting themselves forward.
