Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the new school year.

Medication Procedure Mentone Campus

The first dose of any medication should not be taken at school in case of an allergic reaction.

Please supply all medication in its original packaging in a zip lock bag with the medication form which can be downloaded through the parent portal under publications. The medication will be given to the First Aid Office where the student must attend to have the medication dispensed.

Bentleigh East CampusProcedure as above and forward the medication to Reception.

Medical Conditions and Care Plans

Anaphylaxis requires a current Ascia Plan with a date no earlier than 2018.Asthma Plans are required to be updated annually by your GP. Diabetic Plans must be current and updated as required by your diabetes management team.Epilepsy Plans should be reviewed and updated yearly or following a seizure.Allergic Reaction Plans should be reviewed annually.

For all other medical conditions which may require specific information to help us manage your child’s condition during school hours please ask your treating Dr to complete an appropriate care plan and attach it to the condition on Operoo.

COVID -SAFE School

Please follow the advice from the DHHS and keep your child at home if they are showing any signs of a cold. Eg sore throat, runny nose, cough or temperature. Follow the departments guidelines and have a Covid test and isolate until you receive your result. Please remain at home until symptom free.

Any student who does become unwell while at school with cold or flu like symptoms must be collected by their parent or carer. The student will not be able to return home using public transport. Please ensure your son carries a mask with him to school . We encourage you to provide a spare in his school bag.
