The Body Investigators incursion

Mary Ann Leembruggen, ELC Teacher

Recently, our ELC 4-year-old Magenta and Magnolia groups were treated to the fun of learning through drama and the arts, becoming immersed in an exciting incursion called The Body Investigators.

Everyone became a special ‘Full Body Investigator’ or FBI agent, dressing up as different parts of the body before heading off on an adventure inside the body. There were the neurons in the brain, the oxygen in the heart, the white and red blood cells and the gastric juices in the stomach.

Listening to and engaging with Fairlie, our presenter, the children discovered the importance of keeping their body healthy through exercise, sleep and making good food choices. This incursion involved the children in their own learning, making connections about how their body works and using drama and movement to express their ideas and new understandings.
